Homemade Valentine’s Day Cards from Hadley

Though I am mostly creatively challenged in the crafting department, I’m excited about another year to dig through my supplies and crank out homemade Valentine’s Day cards for our loved ones! I first made homemade Valentine’s cards with Hadley when she was 2.5 months old, and we decided to continue spreading a little February love again last year to our families. I think we now have a tradition on our hands. 🙂

I wanted to share with you our cards from the last couple of years in case you’d like to start your own tradition of making these keepsakes.

This card was so easy to make. I ordered about three sheets of wallet-sized photos online of Hadley (I always print with Walgreens), and the rest of the card was thrown together using supplies I already had: construction paper, scrapbook paper, yarn, glue, glitter glue, and a sharpie. 🙂 The most difficult part of making this card was tracing a teeny baby’s hand with spread fingers, but we made it work!

We also made this for Jamie since Hadley and I were going to be traveling on Valentine’s Day, and I can still picture his face when he opened it! For this one, all I needed was an 8″x10″ frame, a piece of construction paper, a couple sheets of sticker letters and numbers, and washable paint to paint onto Hadley’s hand and foot.

HomemadeVDayDadLast year’s card featured our cutie pie 14 month old. 🙂 Similar to the year prior, I printed wallet-sized sheets of these photos for the cards.

IMG_6979All of these cards were inspired by a bunch of ideas I’d seen on Pinterest that I threw together to make our own.

Homemade Valentine's Day Craft IdeasDo you have any fun Valentine’s Day traditions in your family? I’d love to hear about them!

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
