Military Life 7 Comments

Military Spouse Appreciation Day Link-Up!

Because there is such a thing as Military Spouses Appreciation Day, today I’m raising my glass to the women who I long to call my friends forever. Today celebrates my absolute favorite aspect of our military lifestyle, and that’s the spouses that Jamie’s career has brought into my life. Having close friends all over the world is the coolest thing and the hardest thing all at the same time. Forever thankful for these adult friendships that are so deep. Happy Military Spouses Appreciation Day to many of my very favorite people!

Today I’m linking up with Amanda and Jen and answering a few brief questions about our affiliation with the military. Can’t wait to connect with more amazing MilSpouses around the web!

1. Tell us about yourself and your blog.
My name is Erica and I am a wife and mom who used to be an English teacher but now loves being a SAH mom to my two daughters (ages 2 and three weeks!). My blog Whimsical September is a lifestyle blog that basically serves as a window into my daily life. Readers can expect to find home projects, recipes, parenting stories, traveling adventures, and many more topics 3-5 times a week.

2. What branch of military are you affiliated with?
My husband is a Captain in the Army and is currently deployed for the third time.

3. What is one thing you enjoy about the military lifestyle?
Like I mentioned above, I really enjoy meeting and connecting with fellow military spouses. If we ever leave the military, I know I’ll miss the opportunity to meet so many incredible people.

4. What advice would you give other spouses who are new?
Oh, that’s a loaded question! I have so many things I’d love to share with a brand new military spouse. If he/she is facing a deployment right off the bat, I’d encourage her to read this post right here. Otherwise, I’d love to meet her for coffee and have a long chat about what’s ahead.  🙂

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
