I would love to share Sadie’s newborn pictures with you if you’re interested. 🙂
The photographer who took our maternity pictures and birth pictures (Sarah Buchanan Photography) also captured these pictures as well. Sarah offered to come out to my parent’s home where we were staying to shoot these so that we wouldn’t have to drag both kiddos out of the house, and we were really appreciative of this offer.
We took these pictures when Sadie was seven days old. I laugh a little bit when I see how semi-put together we appear because the real story is that we were all a hot mess that morning. Jamie and I were sleep-deprived, Hadley only wanted to sit on the couch in her pajamas and watch TV, and Sadie decided she was starving and wanted to eat the second the photographer showed up. I didn’t give one thought to our outfits until the morning of, so you can picture me going through our closets 20 minutes before the photographer showed up trying to find outfits that coordinated and throwing them at my mom to quickly iron (BLESS YOU MOM.) It was a little funny. 🙂
I love how Sarah incorporated Sadie’s nursery colors (mint, light pink, and gold) into these pictures; I have empty frames in her room just waiting to be filled with these sweet images.
Because Sadie needed to eat as soon as we were set to start pictures, Sarah decided to take Jamie and Hadley to the backyard to do some “Daddy/Daughter” pictures. I died when I saw them. I really love them!
Since I’m a blogger/writer, Sarah thought it would be cute to have Hadley “writing” in some candid shots. I put her in a more casual outfit, threw some messy pigtails in her hair, and hoped they would turn out okay. I think they’re precious!
Thanks, Sarah!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
