This post is brought to you by David’s Bridal and features David’s Bridal military discount.
During the last couple months of Jamie’s deployment we talked nonstop about all of the things we couldn’t wait to do together once he got home – local restaurants to try, belated special occasions to celebrate, and more planned date nights. We’ve admittedly been very gun shy in the past about nailing down a trusted babysitter, but we decided that finding one we loved was a top priority so that we could start enjoying more frequent nights out on a whim without the girls.
After (very) recently meeting a babysitter that I adored, Jamie and I decided to treat ourselves to the biggest splurge on our date night wish list – a dinner date to Harry’s, which is a locally-owned, unique, upscale restaurant in the heart of downtown Manhattan.
Since Jamie is on his two-week block leave and we’re flexible, we let the babysitter pick which night worked best for her and asked her to come over right around the girls’ bedtime. Once she arrived Jamie and I put finishing touches on our date night looks and headed downtown.
We had an 8 o’clock reservation and enjoyed wining and dining for two straight hours that was completely uninterrupted by our precious babies. 🙂

We clinked our glasses and cheered to our 28th birthdays, our fifth wedding anniversary, securing a company command slot, exciting blog endeavors, our potty-trained toddler, and a beautiful, healthy blue-eyed new family addition.
We got home a little after 10 p.m., paid the sitter, kissed our sleeping babies, and called it a (fabulous) night.

David’s Bridal Cocktail Dress
One of the highlights of the night was trading my usual at-home “mom uniform” (nursing tank and cropped yoga pants) for this strapless cocktail dress and clutch.
David’s Bridal recently reached out and invited me to explore their extensive line of dresses, and I was thrilled at their spectacular timing since I was currently on the hunt for the perfect dress for our date night. I previously had no idea that they’d expanded their designer lines and carried such stunning dresses for a night out on the town.
I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it online and rushed to the nearest store to try it on. I’ve always been a sucker for a subtle sweetheart neckline (hence my wedding dress if you remember), and the blush pink material paired with the pewter beading made me swoon. To carry my cell phone, lip stick, and ID, I decided to mix my metals and went with the most perfect gold clutch (also from David’s Bridal). I was so happy with how this look came together.

Until recently I had never considered David’s Bridal as an option for my special-occasion needs simply because I wasn’t aware of all that they now offer. Not only do they still continue to dress one in every three brides nationwide, but their extensive lines of dresses for military balls, proms, date nights, award ceremonies, and more is something for every girl to keep in mind. We’re talking shoes, handbags, undergarments, jewelry, hair pieces, lingerie, and so much more! PS: They carry sizes 0-30 and 14W-26W.
David’s Bridal, I’m quite impressed with you.
Here are five cocktail dresses that I’m still gawking over.
There’s a military ball in the works for the end of the year, and I am laser-focused on wearing one of these stunners.

Let’s chat!
1.) We’d love some date night ideas! What are some of your favorites that you and your significant other have enjoyed?
2.) Did you know that David’s Bridal carried more than just bridal dresses?
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
