We’ve been really distracted today from our emotions. Hadley had a dentist appointment first thing this morning and then we jetted to her preschool open house. We ran around Target getting last minute essentials to send her to school tomorrow, and now I’m catching my breath as we sit and wait for a realtor to swing by to assess what Jamie and I should focus our time and finances on before we sell in about 18 months. Obviously I scheduled all of this before our lives were turned upside down on Sunday.
To catch some of you up, we nearly lost our precious Hadley in a traumatizing drowning accident. It was without a doubt the worst day of our lives. Jamie is being hailed as a hero for saving her life with CPR. Hadley is doing remarkable today.
Thank you from the deepest part of my heart for your prayers.
For your texts, calls, emails, private messages, Instagram and Facebook posts. I haven’t been able to respond to many of them, but please know that Jamie and I have read every single word. Every one. Knowing that we had people honestly on their knees fervently praying for our family in the middle of the night that first night and then so frequently since then has felt like a big, warm hug.
I’m planning to take an undetermined amount of time away from this site to just get my heart and my head in a better place. I’m hoping it’s only for a very short time. I have some wonderful guest posts lined up for you to enjoy, so I hope you swing by and read them! If you are interested in guest posting on this site, I’d love to have you. Please email me at whimsicalseptember@yahoo.com.
Regarding last week’s giveaway, I’d like to follow up and announce that Ellen Casper is the winner. Ellen, I’ve emailed your name to Katherine Milligan. She will follow up with how to claim your $50 credit.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH. This community is a happy place for me and I can’t wait to come back and resume normal programming.
Hold your loved ones tight.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
