I’m an open book with many aspects of my life, but there’s something a little odd about sharing what goes in your grocery cart. 🙂 What you’re feeding your kids, what you’re cleaning your house with, etc… I feel like I’m possibly opening myself up for some extra judgement/scrutiny. Ha! Because we use a budget and I like seeing where our money is actually going, it’s really fun to add up our savings each month by using Amazon’s Subscribe and Save. This will be our fifth month using this program, and having the small stockpile of our everyday items in our basement has been incredibly handy.
I know so many of you like to budget and track where your money is being spent, so I really enjoy breaking down our purchases and sharing these posts with you!
So, here’s how Amazon’s Subscribe and Save program works, just to catch you up.
Because I receive more than five items per month, I qualify for 15% off almost all of my items. If you also want to order any of the items that I’ll list below, here’s how to do it.
- Click the item and clip any coupons. The price you see will go down at checkout depending on if you qualify for the 15% discount (by having more than five items per month).
2. Make sure the Subscribe & Save option is highlighted.
3. Select your quantity and frequency. Keep in mind that this can be changed or canceled any time (I change my orders all the time depending on what I need).
4. Click “Confirm Subscription”. You should see if you qualify for the 5% or 15% discount and the price you will be charged once your order ships.
5. To keep track of your Subscribe & Save items, go to “Accounts and Lists” on the homepage and then “Your Subscribe and Save Items”.
6. Edit, skip, or cancel subscriptions up until about 10-14 days before your items arrive.

Here’s what’s on its way!
Pampers Baby Dry Diapers Size 4, 180 Count: I’ve been pretty loyal to Pampers with Sadie, but we’ve dabbled with The Honest Company here and there (especially if I can find them on clearance at Target). No particular reason that we’ve been using the “baby dry” kind for a few months except that we’re really happy with them.
: $0.19/diaper
Hy-vee: $0.22/diaper
2 of Plum Organic Stage 2 Fruit and Veggie Variety Packs, 18 Count: Gosh, Sadie loves these so (so so so) much.
: $1.17/pouch
Hy-vee: $1.25/pouch
St. Ives Apricot Scrub: It’s really convenient having Jamie’s facewash shipped and not worrying about remembering to grab it at the store.
$3.45
Hy-vee: $3.99
O-Cedar Multi Use Strong Scrub Sponge: To say that I have a preference with my dish sponges reminds me that I’m getting up there in the years. 😉 This hefty sponge is fantastic.
: $1.27/sponge
Hy-vee: $1.33/sponge (for similar)
Floss Picks, 75 Count: This is another mundane item that I’m glad I don’t have to remember to grab at the store.
: $2.23
Hy-vee: $2.88
: Fun fact about Jamie: He eats about 100 oz of peanut butter a month. If I buy him the huge, bulk jars, then he will eat it even faster by scooping out mounds at a time. These regular-sized jars slow him down a bit. Ha!
Subscribe and Save: $3.30
Hy-vee: $4.38 (for similar)
: If there’s something we’ve never ran out of, it’s coffee. While I’m not a coffee drinker (I actually wish I was!), Jamie can’t live without it. We also host play dates and out-of-town visitors frequently, so we keep a lot on hand.
Subscribe and Save: $0.40/cup
Hy-Vee: $0.56/cup
: Sadie doesn’t come up for air when I hand her one of these. She loves them!
Subscribe and Save: $0.88/pouch
Hy-Vee: $1.79/pouch
: After 3.5 years of wiping booties, these are our favorite all-around wipes.
Subscribe and Save: $0.02/wipe
Hy-Vee: $0.04/wipe (for similar)
: We have a container of these wipes sitting on the counter 95% of the time. Convenience is everything, and they’re so handy for wiping up everything and anything around the house.
Subscribe and Save: $2.82/container
Hy-Vee: $4.50/container
Total May savings: $44.25/10 items
Also! We have a LipSense giveaway winner!

Let’s chat!
Where do you buy your bulk items?
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
