As a blogger, the annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been front and center in my world every July for years, but I didn’t actually start shopping from it until two years ago. I decided to hop on a few deeply discounted, absolutely adorable, practical, and popular items, and this sale has been super credible to me ever since! I loved what a got that first year (three items), so I got three items again last year. , , and are all items I’ve worn approximately 400 times since I purchased them during previous anniversary sales.
Y’all know (or should know!) that we aren’t made of money by any means over here and watch very carefully where and what we spend our money on. When we cut my income 4.5 years ago to pursue being a stay-at-home mom, I became very intentional about my clothing specifically and making sure that whatever I bought were pieces that I loved and would get many, many wears out of.
I buy 75% of my clothes from Stitch Fix (hence the 25 reviews about them – haha!), and another 20% comes from Nordstrom sales (and 5% from other places I suppose).
Nordstrom has a reputation to be pricey, but many readers tell me after they’ve finally snooped around their site that they never realized how fabulous their sales are! That’s the time to buy. Also, their shipping and returns are absolutely free and so easy every single time! And forget about their customer service; It’s phenomenal.
Last weekend I drove up to Nashville with Mom and my girlies to check out the sale for myself. I didn’t buy anything since it was only open to credit cardholders to make purchases, but I wanted to do some snooping around in person and try on a few things. It was somewhat picked through, but there was still soooo much good stuff to try on and dig through!
By the way, I have this site set up where links open in new browsers, so feel free to click links as you see them. Then you can go browse through them after you’ve read the post. 🙂
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Session
(size down)
So comfy! Great basic.
(true to size)
Not as much stretch in these jeans as others. Very typical denim feel.
(true to size)
So (!) comfy, so soft, so perfect. I also adore the length. Super fabulous top for the fall!
(runs a tad big)
Great basic top, but be prepared to wear a camisole underneath. It’s pretty thin.
(true to size and stretchy)
Very, very comfy. Perfect stretch.
(runs a tad big)
Great basic tee, but as aforementioned, be prepared to wear something underneath.
(runs a tad big)
Pretty low cut, but a perfect true v-neck. A tad thin but very comfy!
(true to size)
The hood makes this one unique. There aren’t many cardigans like this that are long and have the hood. If that’s your style, I’d grab this one!
These were my absolute favorite jeans from the sale. I’m buying them for myself because I’ve been hurting for a good pair of comfortable, “everyday” jeans.
(true to size)
I thought this dress was so beautiful on the hanger and had to try it on. It’s quite form-fitting but would be lovely for a wedding!
(true to size)
I bought these pants last fall and have worn them a trillion times. Fabulous gray denim! I also love the way they fit. They’re not too high waisted or too low.
(size at least one size down)
Ah, I’m just dying over this one! I never wanted to take it off. It’s the most comfortable thing. I could see wearing this with leggings and boots once a week, haha. It’s very oversized but somehow doesn’t feel like it. Very thick. I can’t believe it’s on sale for this price! Feels so much more expensive.
(true to size)
I almost didn’t try this one on, but I grabbed it at the last minute and was surprised by how much I liked it. Despite how form-fitting it looks, it’s very comfortable. I don’t have anything like this but would bet I’d wear it a ton. Good classic jacket!
(true to size)
Obsessed with this top paired with these high waisted stretchy jeans. I’ve never thought I’d like a shorter top like this since my torso is quite long, but I couldn’t believe how much I liked this look. I really, really love this sweater, especially paired with your favorite pair of high-waisted pants! I could envision feeling great wearing this out with Jamie or friends one fall or winter night. Also, I love all of the details: the side buttons, the stripe up the back, and the flowy sleeves. Ah.
(true to size)
Sooooo comfy! I’d live in this if I could! I also really appreciate when basics like this have a little something that makes it stand out, and this has it! Check out the little slit in the sleeves. So fun! And you should feel the inside. It’s from the pajamas section because it’s that comfy!
(true to size)
This is your classic, long cardigan. Not too thick or too thin; Just perfect for many different occasions.
(size down)
I’m giggling over this! My mom was looking through my pictures on the way home from Nashville and audibly gasped when she came across this one! Posting this more for kicks and giggles, but if this is your style, you knock yourself out, sister. 😉
(size down)
Two things make this one a little different than a few of the other cardigans in this post: the curved hem and the ribbed material. Mustard is such a fabulous fall color, so I could see this being a huge staple in anyone’s closet who was lucky enough to grab it!
(true to size)
Such a perfect fall/winter jacket to wear out in the evening to do everything from eat dinner, attend a function for your child, hang with girlfriends, etc. So, so comfy too! I loved this one way more than I was expecting.
(true to size)
This cardigan comes in so many colors! It’s similar to the other curved-hem cardigan, but it doesn’t have pockets.
(true to size)
Really loved these jeans. They’re the most expensive pair I tried on simply because this was my second run out of the dressing room and I needed some jeans to try on tops with, and darn it – of course I loved them. These have the most perfect amount of stretch and are a great mid-rise denim. Highly recommend if you’re okay with the splurge.
(true to size)
Definitely a show stopper! I can imagine the compliments would be frequent with this one because you don’t see sweaters like this often. It’s not bizarre though; Just unique and fun! Very comfortable as well.
(true to size)
Definitely a top that I could see being in one’s closet for 10 years. Very basic, comfortable, and versatile! Really loved this one. In fact, I was surprised by just how much!
(true to size)
If the peplum style is one that you’re into, this is a neat, similar alternative! Like I said, I love tops that appear “basic” but have a touch of something that makes them a head turner. This is “that”. Very comfortable and casual, but still a little different because of the style around the waist.

Have fun shopping, friends! See y’all tomorrow for another giveaway. 🙂
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
