I’ve had the best intentions for so long to share with you all about our “coffee fridge” that so many of you dubbed it last year when I first shared about it on Instagram. Maybe it’s a good thing that it’s taken me a hot minute to sit down and share about it because every day that passes is another day that adds to its credibility!
After reviewing a list of refrigerators that we could purchase for our new home last year, this specific model from GE immediately jumped out at us. Its full name is the . We knew we wanted stainless steel to match the rest of our appliances, and we also knew that we wanted a bottom drawer freezer and side-by-side refrigerator doors.
When we saw that this specific model had a Keurig built right into it, our eyes went wide! Was this really a thing? Coffee straight from the REFRIGERATOR DOOR?! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.
How much more expensive is this model compared to one without the Keurig function though? That’s what we wanted to know.
We quickly realized that not only was it very comparable in price to other systems without the Keurig, but that this seemed to be the real deal. A few other appliance brands were rolling out similar options, so we figured “Let’s just go for it!”
I’ll go ahead and say that we love everything about the refrigerator and freezer. So much room, so easy to clean, so many ways to adjust shelving, etc. We have been beyond satisfied with the refrigerator and freezer portions of this system and would give it an A++ rating. It leaves nothing to be desired in our opinion.
Now let’s zoom in on the coffee-making function. 🙂 The main reasons we love it include 1.) the fact that we never have to refill water and 2.) that it eliminates the need to store a large coffee maker on our counter top. That’s it! Otherwise it’s really not as fancy as it looks (hence why it wasn’t much more expensive than a comparable refrigerator/freezer combo without the Keurig function).
A user basically hits a button to begin heating water, puts in a coffee pod like usual, selects 6 oz., 8 oz., or 10 oz. of coffee, and then holds down a button to begin brewing. Ta-da! While it’s very simple to use, it’s not obvious to guests how to use it, so Jamie and I enjoy being the baristas for our family and friends when they come to visit. It’s actually become quite a conversation piece!
We admittedly wondered if having this extra bit of technology in our home would be a headache sooner than later, but so far, so good! We’ve been extremely happy with it. One of my favorite features of this system is that it calls for one water filter, so there’s no more extensive cleaning of a countertop Keurig machine like we used to do. We simply keep the filter on auto ship every six months from Amazon’s Subscribe and Save, so we don’t even have to think about it! Easy peasy. God bless the modern luxuries of 2019. 😉
If you’re in the market for a new refrigerator and you love coffee as much as we do, you may want to give this GE Profile a look! While it would be nice if this post was sponsored in some way, GE simply has no idea who little ole’ Erica from Whimsical September is, so this post is all completely 100% our own opinions designed to point you in the right direction of a system we think you’d be super happy with.
To check the current price of this system from Home Depot, . It’ll also tell you more about the unique features this system offers!

Let’s chat!
Have you ever heard of a “coffee fridge” before?!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
