Kitchen Updates: Light Fixture Shopping (Five Options Under $80)

My sister and brother-in-law will be packing up soon and leaving today after spending the last few days visiting us in Kansas, so I’m distracting myself from the fact that they’re leaving me by doing a little bit of online window shopping for kitchen light fixtures.

Yesterday we were hanging around the kitchen and I made a joke to Josh about how I needed to put him to work around my house while I had the chance; He loves doing stuff around the house and helped us out a bunch when they briefly lived with us last winter. Of course he took me seriously and asked what he could do! I told him that I’d love to tear down the outdated curved wooden panel over my kitchen sink, and he got to work right then and there. Five minutes later he had it down with zero damage to my cabinets. Handy bro-in-law for the win!

Just for the record, I’m sure Jamie could have done the same thing, but I’d just never asked him to do it. 😉 It never really came up!

Here’s a picture of what our sink area looks like now that the window is painted (which was completed last December) and the wooden panel is down. Already so much better in my opinion!

The light fixture above the sink is quite outdated (it has all kinds of crazy swirly designs on the bowl), and though I’ve been interested in replacing it for a while, I’m now even more anxious since it’s so much more visible without the wooden panel.

After a bit of online shopping I pinned a few that I’ve narrowed my search down to.
