Outback Steakhouse, Operation Homefront, and the Man I Adore

Ah, tomorrow is a special, special day in my little orbit because it celebrates so many people that are dear to me. In particular, Happy Veteran’s Day to this guy, who I am so (so!) incredibly lucky to call my husband. He is the hardest working, most well-rounded guy I’ve ever met, and I’ve never bragged on him more than… Keep Reading

Homemade Christmas Gifts for Grandparents: Six Thoughtful Ideas

This post shares six fantastic homemade Christmas gifts for grandparents, most that I’ve had experience making with my own children. I can tell you from experience that these gifts are sure to bring big smiles to the recipients’ faces. Enjoy! Out of all the gift guides coming out this month here on this site, I have a hunch that this… Keep Reading

A Gift Guide for Dads, Fathers-in-law, and Brothers

Do you have “go to” gifts for the men in your life that you find yourself routinely giving for every birthday, Father’s Day, and Christmas? Shirts, ties, maybe a new wallet? Admittedly I always resort back to one of these old faithful types of gifts, and if you’re like me, you want to break up the monotony this year. Here… Keep Reading

A Big Dream & the Little Train Around a Family’s Yard

A couple weeks ago my mom arranged quite the treat for all of us! She got in touch with a sweet retired couple from church who she’d heard had a train that ran around their property and set up a time for all of us to venture down to south Huntsville to tackle a ride on the Heart of Dixie… Keep Reading

Gift Guide for Moms and Mothers-in-Law

When people chat about shopping for their moms or mothers-in-law, it seems like they always say they’re the easiest on their list or the hardest (because what do you get the woman who “has it all already?!” some have said.) Here are a slew of gift ideas to help you cross these special women off of your list. Gift Ideas… Keep Reading

What It’s Like To Be a Farming Family: An In-Depth Interview

The very best part of the Kansas Corn Tour back in September (besides having a sweeeeet hotel all to myself! Hallelujah.) was the evening we spent at a local Wichita restaurant dining with farming couples from all over Kansas. The other bloggers on the tour have echoed my sentiments in that we unexpectedly became captivated quickly by these farmers and… Keep Reading

Tate Farms + the Night of the Mermaid & Fairy

Blogging about pumpkin patches and trick-or-treating six days into November seems a bit irrelevant, but you guys know we DeSpain girls have been on the move lately! I would love to share these sweet pictures (and a few bloopers!) with you, if you’re still interested in reading about some October fun. 🙂 Since Hadley was a baby, we’ve visited a… Keep Reading

A Guide to the 2017 Gift Guides…

Ready or not, here come the holidays! I’ve always gotten a kick out of gift giving, which is why creating monthly gift guides this year has been so enjoyable. I hope you’ve found them helpful too in loving on or uplifting those you care about. A well-thought out gift can speak incredible volumes about how you see them and their… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
