How Do You Welcome Your New Neighbors?

A couple weeks ago our neighbors across the street left to head to their next duty station, and the very next day a different moving truck arrived ready to move in another family. We scoped them out for a couple of days when they were in and out with boxes, and around day four I quickly whipped up some homemade… Keep Reading

Contributor Post on The Today Show’s website: She’ll Never Remember This Summer, But I Will

Good morning everyone! I’m excited to have another contributor post featured on The Today Show’s Parenting Team website. I poured my heart (and a lot of time) into this one, so I’d love if you popped over and gave it a read. Additionally, there’s a circular white button up top near the title and social media options labeled “vote”. If… Keep Reading

Father’s Day Weekend 2015

I get such a high from good, clean, whole family fun, and this weekend was all about it! On Saturday morning we were up at 7 and were quickly getting things together to get out the door. The Landers invited us to rent a boat with them for the morning to kick off Father’s Day weekend and their son’s 2nd… Keep Reading

Give a Bottle Breacher

“This is definitely the only time that beer and bullets go well together!”   My husband muttered these words tongue in cheek last night as he proudly used his brand new Bottle Breacher bottle opener for the first time to crack open a cold Father’s Day brew to drink with dinner. Cheers to one heck of an incredible dad. Have you… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – 6/18/15

Summertime, and the livin’ is easy.  I think this is my most favorite summer yet. I absolutely love the kid in me that Hadley brings out! We’ve had so much fun together lately. While I certainly don’t capture every bit of our lives with my cell phone, I do make an effort to snap one or two from our fun… Keep Reading

Balsamic Veggie Hummus Wrap

Over the weekend I ordered the veggie wrap from our lunch spot, and it was to die for. When I got home I looked up a copy cat version and found that it was loaded with just as many cheeses and sauces as it was vegetables. For dinner this week I played around with creating a lightened up version that… Keep Reading

Whimsical September Gets a Makeover

I’m so excited to unveil a fresh new blog design for Whimsical September. I hope you like it! Once I found out back in April that I was selected as a BlogHer “Voice of the Year” and would be attending their annual conference, I knew it was time to do a little financial investing in my blog and spruce things… Keep Reading

Girls Weekend in Colorado Springs

If you follow me over on Instagram, you may have seen that I spent the weekend playing around in Colorado Springs! The weekend was fast and furious and just the mental and physical recharge I desperately needed. My friend Hannah, who I became really close with at Fort Campbell, flew into Colorado from Hawaii last week to fulfill some on-site… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
