Hiking Carr Peak in Sierra Vista, Arizona

Carr Peak was one of the most memorable things we did while living in Arizona. Read on to learn why! Before Saturday, I thought I’d been hiking. Now I know that I’d never really been hiking. At least hiking with an end-result like this. Sierra Vista is completely surrounded by mountains, and Jamie and I have talked several times about… Keep Reading

Finding out that we were having a girl & telling Jamie in Afghanistan

One year ago today we gave our little babe a more correct pronoun; “it” was now a “she”, and memories of finding out that news still just make me smile from ear to ear! I woke up that Saturday morning snuggled with my two best friends Amberlee and Ashley. Amberlee had driven to my house the night before from Chattanooga and Ashley… Keep Reading

Bisbee

Happy Friday! It’s 3 p.m., and it looks like we won’t be finding out today where our next post is going to be. I had really high hopes that today would be the day, but I guess we have a few more days (at least) to wait. By the way – like the new blog banner up there at the… Keep Reading

a beautiful day for a picnic

Going on a picnic is one of my favorite ways to soak up a beautiful day. Excuse my eye-sore of a picnic blanket, but it’s the perfect picnic blanket and I refuse to get a new one. One of my favorite lunch dates with Jamie was a couple years ago when we last-minute went to Publix and picked up sandwiches, drinks,… Keep Reading

The Fault in Our Stars

My mom is here! MY MOM IS HERE! I really couldn’t be more excited. She flew in to Tucson a few hours ago, and now she, Had, and Ted are taking a little snooze. So excited to host her here in Arizona for a week. I have a little book review for ya today! 🙂   While we were throwing… Keep Reading

San Diego in Pictures

The three DeSpain amigos are home from a long-weekend vacation to San Diego feeling refreshed from and thankful for a really awesome getaway. Though the drive from Sierra Vista to San Diego is only about 7.5 hours, we knew we’d have to add some time traveling with a six month old. Back in March I looked up flights from Tucson to… Keep Reading

San Diego Bound

By this time tomorrow morning we’ll be wheels up to San Diego and beginning our first summer vacation as a family of three. My family traveled a lot growing up, so it’s no surprise that my siblings and I are all avid travelers. I have really fond memories of our family vacations, and I’m looking forward to creating those memories with our… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
