A Balanced, Enjoyable Weekend

I remember piddling around the kitchen with Jamie Friday morning as we both got ready for the day and discussed our shared enthusiasm for the quiet weekend coming up. Between traveling, his drill schedule, and other various commitments, we hadn’t had a weekend to lay low at home together in a hot minute (at least it felt that way), so… Keep Reading

Grand Cayman / Part Three: Stingray City, Starfish Point, and More

Thanks so much for keeping up with these vacation recap posts! I really want them to be helpful and informative (or maybe just entertaining?), but I also selfishly have added a few extra pictures and stories for our own memory keeping. For this reason, I apologize for posts that are a bit longer than usual! If you want to rewind… Keep Reading

Our Family Vacation to Grand Cayman / Part Two: Rum Point

My neighbor sent me a message recently asking me who helped us research for and book our recent trip to Grand Cayman, and it made me smile because I planned this trip 100% by myself. While Jamie helped me pick the trip location and timing, all of the logistics fell into my arena, and I love that kind of control… Keep Reading

Our Family Vacation to Grand Cayman / Part One: Seven Mile Beach

Well, I have so much that I could say about our recent vacation to Grand Cayman that I’m honestly not even quite sure where to begin. (I feel like this is usually either a really good or not so good thing!) To sum things up right off the bat, it’s easy for both Jamie and me to say that our… Keep Reading

Madison, Alabama: 6 Reasons to Move to This Beautiful Town.

Deciding where to plant roots was a pretty easy decision for us; Madison, Alabama it would be. We decided about two years before Jamie’s last day in the Army that we were going to be getting out of the active duty side of the house, so we spent a few months talking constantly about where we wanted to settle down…. Our Shared Home Office Space: A Look Inside

We downsized about 500 sq. ft. from our Kansas to our Alabama home, so we thankfully had an excess amount of furniture and decor to fill our new space until we decide to focus more intentionally on decorating each nook and cranny of the house to fit this specific home. The only room I’ve worked intentionally on purchasing things for… Keep Reading

Financial Responsibility: Why We Stopped Using Our Credit Card

This article contains information about how we created a financial responsibility framework that works best for our family.  I have preached loud and proud many times on the blog for the last several years about how much I love our Southwest Premier credit card; It has allowed us to travel to some amazing places thanks to their unbeatable reward point system…. Child Safety: How Do You Make Sure Your Child’s Friend’s Home is Safe?

This is a child safety article about keeping your child protected while visiting a friend’s home.  If your children are school-aged and enjoy spending time at their friends’ homes that they meet at school, how do you ensure that their home is a safe environment before letting your child spend extended time there? This admittedly isn’t a topic I’ve given… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
