Slice of Life: November 12th, 2018

Well this is a record; It’s been a full SEVEN WEEKS since I’ve cranked out a “slice of life”. This last quarter of the year has just been a-flyin’! My last “slice of life” was supposed to be a two-parter, so this post was actually sitting in my drafts. I remember sitting down to work on it during some down… Keep Reading

Creating a Children’s Travel Journal and Keepsake

A couple of days before we left for Germany, I stumbled upon an online article (I wish I could find it!) that discussed the “ancient” art of scrapbooking, and how most kids have no idea what this is. The author discussed how she’d recently taught her fifth grader about scrapbooking by creating a few pages with her about a recent family… Keep Reading

Losing a Diamond Ring in the Atlanta Airport, and How It Showed Back Up

There’s an itty bitty detail from our Europe trip that I never told you about, and that’s that our trip was almost ruined before we were even wheels up from Atlanta. Nothing (and I mean nothing) is ever easy, right? (Oy.) What would a big vacation like this be if something didn’t go awry? We had an incredibly fast layover… Keep Reading

Getting Behind Philanthropy as a Family

Jamie went to a “Man Night” at our church last month, and he came barreling in the door at 10 p.m. ready to talk my ear off about what an incredible night he had. He loved the food, the community, but most of all, the speaker. All weekend long he’d randomly spit out things he remembered from the speaker and… Keep Reading

Stitch Fix November 2018: Review #27

I have been meaning to update you about my last fix, in which I requested FIVE PAIRS OF SHOES! I was hurtin’ pretty bad for some new fall/winter shoes, so I figured letting Stitch Fix pick some for me to try was more fun than going to the store. Well, that request fell a bit flat because Stitch Fix has… Keep Reading

Our First Halloween in Our New Neighborhood

I remember my parents really enjoying Halloween when we were growing up because they would get to be outside with all of the neighbors and socialize. My mom would sit beside all of the other women from our cul-de-sac and pass out candy while my dad took us around trick or treating. We all just loved it. Fast forward 20+… Keep Reading

Coffee Talk: What It Was Really Like Traveling Abroad with Little Ones

If you and I were sitting down for coffee and you asked me how things really went while traveling with the girls overseas (because it was surely a mess at times, right?), here are a few things I’d share with ya. For reference, Hadley is almost five and Sadie is exactly 2.5 years old. I’d tell you that our overnight… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
