First Day in Destin + Toddler Road Trip Essentials

Popping in from Florida to say hello and good afternoon! My sister and brother-in-law PCSed (moved) down here about three months ago, and Hadley and I couldn’t get here fast enough! I know it’s really hard for them to live somewhere so beautiful. Yea, right. 🙂 The drive normally takes about 5.5 hours from my parent’s house, but thankfully having… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – November 29th, 2015

November… it’s just been wild. At MOPS last month we focused on embracing rest as moms, and I’ve had to remind myself many times this month that it’s okay to let the sink sit with dishes a little longer and to turn down a few invitations for the sake of just resting. When I used to rest I would joke that… Keep Reading

On Being a Gracious Thanksgiving Guest

Happy Thanksgiving a day early! What do you have planned for tomorrow? Hadley and I will be spending a much-needed day with my family, and I’m really looking forward to it. The last time we spent Thanksgiving with my family was two years ago when Hadley was only 11 days old, and that holiday was a total blur. 🙂 I… Keep Reading

Pet-Owner Heartache & Hefty Vet Bills

If you’ve been a reader for a while, you know that we’re mildly obsessed with our rescue dog Teddy. You may remember that he’s been the star of several blog posts the last few years (most recently when he locked us out of our car again in September and when we celebrated his “Gotcha Day” in April). Teddy is back on… Keep Reading

Girls Night, Pies in a Jar, and a Delicious Homemade Cherry Pie Milkshake

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are my own. #ShareTheJoyOfPie #CollectiveBias Around this time last year we were still the new kids on the block here in Kansas, and I was struggling to find my community of people to do life with. Fast forward a whole year, and now I find myself continually… Keep Reading

Hadley’s 2nd Birthday

On Tuesday my big girl turned two! I was admittedly pretty emotional last year about her first birthday, but this year I was just excited to celebrate her life and make her feel special on her big day! Here’s a collage of her on November 17 in 2013, 2014, and 2015. I can’t even imagine what three year old Hadley… Keep Reading

Military Housing Options: Which Is Best?

Though some military families decide well in advance that they will always rent, buy, or live on post no matter where they’re stationed, many others (my family included) make the housing decision on a case-by-case basis depending on where they’re being stationed and for how long. Though we really enjoy owning our home, the idea of selling it in just a… Keep Reading

Stitch Fix #13 – November 2015

I’m sure I sound like a broken record at this point, but the box I received a few days ago is hands down my favorite box I’ve ever received from Stitch Fix garment-wise. It’s also surely not a coincidence that the price for the total box was also the highest I’ve received to date, and seeing the individual prices next… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
