Father’s Day Weekend 2016

What. A. Weekend. A fun, simple, exhausting, comedic weekend! I’m typing this up on Sunday night with Jamie by my side watching the final NBA game (which means The Bachelorette returns tomorrow – wheeeee!), and it feels great to sink into the couch for a bit with my love by my side and do a little bit of mindless typing. We had so much… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – June 17th, 2016

Happy Friday, friends! It’s been a scorcher of a week here in northeast Kansas, but otherwise things are nice and quiet around here. We have a few things planned for the weekend, but mostly we’ll be focused on loving on Jamie for Father’s Day and laying low. Here’s a little slice of our lives from the last 10 days or… Keep Reading

My Favorite Etsy Purchases

Continuing with the “gifting/favorite things” theme from this week, this post spotlights my favorite purchases from Etsy. I’ve utilized Etsy for years to find gifts for all kinds of occasions – birthdays, wedding showers, hostess gifts, you name it. Even Jamie has found Etsy useful and has ordered me a few things from the site, most recently this I’d pinned on… Keep Reading

Favorite toys for two year olds: This list of eight items is commonly found in many homes and daycares with two year olds. Whether you're shopping for a girl or a boy, these toys should give you some ideas for what the two year old in your life would love.

Favorite Toys for Two Year Olds: Hadley’s Picks

Hadley’s imaginary play skills have shot through the roof lately and it’s so enjoyable to watch. Until a few months ago she was never that great at independent play for more than 10-ish minutes, but lately she can’t get enough of dumping out her buckets of toys and going to town creating and playing. Having a front row seat to watch… Keep Reading

On Marriage, Love Tanks, and Listening

Marriage is a trip sometimes, and I have to share the funniest conversation that Jamie and I had a few weeks ago that maybe some of you can relate to. Recently a package showed up from Amazon that was addressed to Jamie. I handed it to him once it arrived and asked him what he’d ordered. He smirked, opened the… Keep Reading

Pesto Chicken Pizza on Homemade Dough

Fri-daaaayyyy! Hooray! Jamie has the entire week off next week before he starts his Commanders course, so today kicks off a whole lot of family time. 🙂 I’m popping in today to share our family pizza dough recipe that we’ve worked hard to perfect throughout the last few years. I’ve mentioned on this blog no less than five times that homemade… Keep Reading

Dear Mama Whose Heart is Twisted About Having a Second Baby

A few months ago my two year old daughter and I were driving home from dinner with friends, and as we pulled onto our street a lump formed in my throat and big tears began to stream down my face; I realized that tonight was our last night ever just the two of us to do my daughter’s bedtime routine. Out-of-town… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – June 8th, 2016

I know that life doesn’t stop during deployment (heck – I’ve grown two babies during them!), but now that Jamie’s home I feel like we’ve hit the “play” button. Life is good right now. Here’s a slice of our lives from the last week-ish before Jamie’s homecoming and the couple of days since. 🙂 Because we’re not melting in hot,… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
