Slice of Life – November 14th, 2016

Hey party people. 🙂 Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Besides having our family photos taken, we didn’t have any big plans and used our time to be lazy, watch football, Christmas shop online, and catch up on life. Days like this get two thumbs way up in my book! It’s funny how certain dates are permanently linked… Keep Reading

15' Skywalker Trampoline :If you're in the market for a family trampoline, we would definitely suggest this one, as we've been thrilled with it so far.

Jump Around!

Hadley got a pretty big new toy last week, but I think Jamie and I are loving it even more! We are now the super giddy owners of a big ‘ole trampoline! A couple of my friends with elementary-age children have trampolines, and after seeing Hadley run around and have a ball on them throughout the last year, I knew… Keep Reading

Veterans Day Thoughts + A Tool to Say Thank You

Tomorrow is a day that I’ll forget how challenging our military lifestyle has really been. Tomorrow is a day that’s filled my little soul to the brim with pride every year since 2011 (the year I truly learned the significance), but when it comes to explaining why I love Veterans Day, I find that I’m somewhat at a loss for words… Keep Reading

For Hadley's 3rd birthday, we threw her a horse and princess birthday party and she loved it so much. So did we! Princess dresses, ponies, pink cupcakes, paint, and precious, precious friends. These are the things that contributed to the happiest birthday party we could have ever imagined for Hadley, and it was easy!

Hadley’s Highly Anticipated “Horsey Party” (a.k.a. Horse and Princess Birthday Party)

Princess dresses, ponies, pink cupcakes, paint, and precious, precious friends. These are the things that contributed to the happiest birthday party we could have ever imagined for Hadley, and it was easy peasy! Lots of DeSpains were overjoyed on Sunday. We’d never thrown a traditional birthday party with friends for Hadley before, and we decided months ago that we definitely wanted… Keep Reading

Overnight Guest Guide: You Must Serve Cake!

Here’s the real trick to hosting overnight guest: Serve cake! When we visited my sister’s family in Florida a few months ago, she had a bundt cake sitting on the kitchen counter that was always available to us. There was usually a clean knife and cake plates nearby, and we enjoyed cutting ourselves a sliver here and there when we… Keep Reading

Hadley’s & Sadie’s First Six Months: How They Contrast

This post was sponsored by Nature Made® as a part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central. One of my dearest friends and I are thankfully walking side-by-side through this season of raising toddlers who are close in age as well as our second babies who are very close in age, and we sigh all the time about how parenting our second… Keep Reading

That’s A Wrap for the Pig

The combo of wearing her piggy costume and collecting gobs of candy makes this girl smile like no tomorrow, so I’m not sure how I’ll break the news to her that that’s a wrap for Halloween ’til next year. She’s had a ball. She’s worn her costume to a college homecoming parade, to preschool, to a Trunk or Treat at… Keep Reading

A Peek Inside My Dream Home Book

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween! While my social media feeds were flooded on Saturday night with adult party pictures and awesome couples’ costumes, Jamie and I were simply doing cartwheels around the house that both girls were passed out by 7:19 p.m. We enjoyed a quiet night in together and a generally relaxing weekend all-around. We traded some of the community… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
