One of the Best Parenting Gifts I’ve Received

My friend Rosalyn doesn’t know I’m writing about this today, but she did something for Jamie and me almost two years ago that I’ll always remember. We moved to Arizona in March of 2014 when Hadley was four months old, and shortly after our move I found myself struggling in every sense of the word. I missed my family (who… Keep Reading

9 Winter Coats from Nordstrom Under $100

My winter coat situation goes like this every single year: I realize in October that I need a new winter coat, I look at the hefty, full price tags, and decide that I can get by with my older coats until spring when I’ll find one on a discount during the end-of-season sales. Spring rolls around, and I’d rather buy sandals. Fail…. Keep Reading

New Master Bedroom Wingback Headboard

Popping in today with an interior home update! If you’ve been a reader around here for a while, you may remember that I used to have home project posts weekly, but now that we’ve been settled into our home for over 15 months, we’ve slowed our roll a bit with the improvements. Though my list of home improvement ideas runs a mile… Keep Reading

Second Trimester Review

Happy Friday! Our weekend is shaping up to have the warmest weather we’ve had in a while (highs in the low 60s), and I am pumped about spending some time outdoors with my girl! My weather app tells me that more snow is predicted Monday and/or Tuesday here in Kansas, so we’re going to enjoy the more comfortable temperatures while we… Keep Reading

Why We Still Need Friendships That Have Faded

My siblings and I have always trusted both of our parents to give us very sound advice when we need it (which is often), but my dad is famously known for giving these nuggets of wisdom that are typically only one sentence long that really, really stick. He gave me one of these nuggets a couple of years ago that… Keep Reading

Homemade Valentine’s Day Cards from Hadley

Though I am mostly creatively challenged in the crafting department, I’m excited about another year to dig through my supplies and crank out homemade Valentine’s Day cards for our loved ones! I first made homemade Valentine’s cards with Hadley when she was 2.5 months old, and we decided to continue spreading a little February love again last year to our families…. Keep Reading

Slice of Life – January 25, 2016

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend and maybe enjoyed a bit of snow! We got about five inches last Wednesday night/Thursday morning, and my little snow bunny has thoroughly enjoyed frolicking in it the last few days. Shoveling snow was one of my bigger concerns going into this deployment because I assumed that I… Keep Reading

How Randi Zuckerberg Sets Social Media Limits

Today I’m excited to share with you a little bit of insight from a member of the Zuckerberg family on setting social media limits, but first I’ve been meaning to say a big THANK YOU for all the love you sent my way  after I shared Sadie’s name with you on Wednesday! I appreciate all of your kind words. 🙂 Yesterday… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
