Slice of Life – January 5th, 2016

Besides potty training and attempting to get back in somewhat of our old routines, things have been pretty quiet around here. Here’s what we’ve been up to the last 10 days or so! The night before we left Alabama my best friend Amberlee and her husband Brandon came to hang with us for a couple hours at my parent’s house,… Keep Reading

Potty Training: Days 3-6

Today is officially day six of potty training, and I am one super happy mom! In summary, things around here are going really, really well. We’ve come a long way since Doomsday last Wednesday (day one) where we both spent the entire day locked in the basement crying over pee and poop and eating Oatmeal Cream Pies. #hotmess In… Keep Reading

Practical & Attractive Diaper Bag Options

I know I’m probably in the vast minority, but I’ve never been much of a purse lover. I could justify buying a zillion pairs of shoes or new tops, but I will rarely shell out money for a new bag. Nearly all of my purses have been gifts because I will seldom ever buy one for myself. Once I find one… Keep Reading

Oh Crap Potty Training Method: Days One & Two

I read Oh Crap Potty Training before potty training both of my 25 month old daughters, and this Oh Crap Potty Training method worked beautifully with both of them. I cannot recommend it enough, especially if you have a weekend set aside that you can devote to and dive right in. Read on to hear about how the first few… Keep Reading

2015: A Year in Review

Whether it was a big vacation, cross-country move, or the birth of a child, it seems like each year since we’ve been married has been identified in some roundabout way by a really big event. When I think about 2015, I can’t put my finger on what that singular “big event” might be (though several stand out), and that’s okay! Just like I… Keep Reading

Most Popular Blog Posts of 2015

Though I’ve been story telling and oversharing on this silly blog for years, things really took a turn around here this year. I was anonymously nominated and selected for a BlogHer Voices of the Year Award and attended the biggest annual blogging conference in the world, which was hands down one of the most humbling, beneficial, exciting experiences of my adult… Keep Reading

Christmas Joy (& Deployment Blues) 2015

Ahhh… we’re hoooooome! As in home, I mean Kansas. 🙂 My dad drove back with Hadley and me yesterday, and we were on the road by 5 a.m. to try and beat the 5-8″ of expected snow and ice that was supposed to fall last night. This morning we woke up to this. So much for our first winter wonderland… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – December 23, 2015

Today is an extra special day in our house because it’s Jamie’s birthday! The Army may have caused us separation on other holidays, our anniversary, etc., but this is the very first time in eight years that I haven’t been able to give him a big birthday kiss and celebrate with him on his special day. We sorely miss you today babe but… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
