Yesterday we were both just in a bad mood. We’d stayed up Saturday night until about 1:30 a.m. enjoying s’mores and conversation around a fire pit with four of our friends on our back deck. They left, and we quickly cleaned up and crashed in bed. Usually we strive to hit the 10:15 Sunday morning church service, but when I rolled out… Keep Reading
I’m back… Are you surprised?!
So I lasted a whole 16 days without blogging! Go ahead and laugh! What was I thinking getting rid of my blog?! Writing has always been one of my BIGGEST passions, and I don’t think I realized that the only method of writing I do these days is through my blog! I definitely was totally done with this silly ‘ol… Keep Reading
Goodbye deployment
Jamie’s first deployment is OVER, and we are THRILLED! Jamie was a part of 7-17 Cavalry Regiment, and soldiers from his unit have been returning home since early January. Jamie was on the last flight, so I was oh SO anxious for his butt to get home – FINALLY! I got the official automated call from the Army on Friday… Keep Reading

Sounds like it’s right in my driveway. Immediately check my phone. Why haven’t I heard from him yet today? Jump up. Open the door to make sure… Keep Reading
bucketlist rundown
We’re down to DAYS, party people! Obviously I can’t say in writing when or where the big homecoming ceremony will be, but my to-do list is full just like my heart with happiness that this is finally hours from being OVER. I took a peak at my deployment bucketlist a couple days ago and wasn’t surprised at all to only… Keep Reading
blind date four years ago today
HOLA from 35,000 feet in the air! My guess is that I’m probably somewhere over Texas right now as I make my way home from an awesome trip to Reno. SUPER excited that this is the LAST Rachel’s Challenge trip that I’ll fly home to nobody. Really, really can’t wait to come home to my husband. It hit me around… Keep Reading
WOBBLE!
One of my absolute FAVORITE parts of the cruise was doing my new FAVORITE dance, Wobble (shout out Torski and Nasha for showing me how to do it at the RC Christmas party). The best part of doing this dance numerous times throughout the trip – watching my MOM learn how to do this dance. She is awesome! If you’re… Keep Reading
c’mon february
Greetings from Battle Mountain, Nevada. It’s been that kind of travel day. Woke up at 4 a.m. (except I really didn’t sleep a wink because I was so paranoid about oversleeping), took a quick shower and was out the door by 5 (I dropped Teddy off with my petsitter last night), drove an hour to the airport, caught my 7:25 a.m. flight… Keep Reading
