13 Blog Posts for Military Families

This is a round up of blog posts for military families.  Since my life is my blog’s content, it makes sense that a good chunk of my material revolves around military-related topics. Some were written as resources, some were written with the intention of simply being relatable (i.e. so other military families know they’re not alone with x, y, or… Keep Reading

Strengthening Our Marriage One Workout at a Time

This post was sponsored by Reebok as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. About a month ago, I had this moment of clarity while standing right in the middle of our kitchen that likely changed my outlook on fitness for a lifetime. I’d been having a rough day… Keep Reading

Why You Should Buy Your Premier Protein at Costco

Today’s post is all about a fun event coming up for the military community, so check it out for details about where, when, and what’s involved! Big thanks to Premier Protein at Costco for sponsoring this post. It’s thrilling to me that such a large chunk of the Whimsical September audience has a military affiliation, so this post today is… Keep Reading

The Saturday Sit-Down #59: Communikait

Well this is the easiest “Saturday Sit-Down” intro I’ve ever written. 🙂 Meet my blogging bestie, Kait! I debated just calling her and simply recording an hours-long phone interview instead of my traditional-style interview because there are so (so so so) many layers to her blog. Knowing the wealth of knowledge she has to share made it very hard to… Keep Reading

Stories, Ramblings, and a Few Favorite Things

Every once in a while I’ll sit down during my self-designated “work time” with no plan at all for what I’m going to write about. I just write. This afternoon, I have my feet kicked up on the coffee table, laptop on my outstretched legs, and am breathing a sigh of relief that for the next 45ish minutes I’ll get… Keep Reading

Essential Painting Tools for Beginners: Top Suggestions For New Painters

This article contains information about essential painting tools for beginners. With the exception of one room, we slathered paint on every wall in our two-story home within the first 18 months that we lived here. In fact, most of the walls were painted in the first six months (I was anxious to rock and roll with the projects!) The dull… Keep Reading

Slice of Life: March 13th, 2018

Oh, hi! 🙂 I have a short and sweet “Slice of Life” ready for ya, if you’d like a glimpse at what’s been going on in our neck of the woods lately. I figure that more people will be searching Google and Pinterest for carrot cake recipes this month as Easter approaches (April 1st), and because the carrot cake cupcakes… Keep Reading

Stories of the Highest Highs and Lowest Lows from our 8 Years in the Army

If there’s one thing you’ll rarely experience in the military, it’s monotony.  Jamie’s career in the Army has allowed us to experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, often back to back to back. I’ve always said that the good times are really, really, really good (they have to be for anyone to choose to stick out… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
