Six Years in the Army: Lessons Learned

On Saturday my mother-in-law ran across a video of the finale of the USMA class of 2016’s graduation ceremony, and it sent sharp goosebumps up and down my arms and a big smile to my face as we watched. I imagined what all of those new officers and their families and friends were feeling, and listening to those same words (“Class of 2016,… Keep Reading

Sadie’s Newborn + Family Photos

I would love to share Sadie’s newborn pictures with you if you’re interested. 🙂 The photographer who took our maternity pictures and birth pictures (Sarah Buchanan Photography) also captured these pictures as well. Sarah offered to come out to my parent’s home where we were staying to shoot these so that we wouldn’t have to drag both kiddos out of… Keep Reading

Slice of Life: Back to Kansas (5/17/16)

Well hi! Popping in today with a quick update from the Kansas home front! Tomorrow my baby girl will be a month old, and I’m just over here trying to figure out how time has gone by so fast. My every thought and every move the last 30 days has been solely focused in one way or another on my daughters,… Keep Reading

Slice of Life: Our Last Week in Alabama (5/16/16)

Good morning and Happy Monday! We are home sweet home in Kansas and are so happy to be back! I’m so glad I made the decision to spend a couple of months at my parent’s home in Alabama, but being back in our own beds feels so, so good. Rewinding a few days today to share a slice of life from our… Keep Reading

How To Get Out of a Bad Mood

I call it “getting in a funk”. It’s those days where you’re in a foul mood for one reason or another, or maybe not for any good reason at all. I think we all get in these moods from time to time. I really loathe these days, especially when I can’t identify one legitimate reason for being in said funk. Because… Keep Reading

Hadley’s Adjustment to Being a Big Sister

When Hadley is an adult, I can’t wait to tell her a million times what an absolute rockstar of a two year old she was around the time that Sadie was born. For the last two months she’s been sleeping at Grandma and Grandpa’s house in a new room in a bigger bed and going to a brand new school… Keep Reading

Hospital Bag Checklist for Mom and Baby: After coming home with my second baby, I made a list of everything I needed and used at the hospital so that I'll have the list if we decide to have another baby. Here's what I'd highly recommend packing as well as what to leave at home. This list also includes what most hospitals provide complimentary.

Hospital Bag Checklist for Mom and Baby

Congratulations on soon welcoming your little one! This blog post provides a realistic hospital bag checklist for mom and baby. Overpacking and unpacking should both be avoided, so as a mom of two, I created this perfect list of items to make your packing a breeze so that you only bring exactly what you need. Enjoy! When I had Hadley… Keep Reading

To Three Amazing Moms: A Guest Post by Jamie

Happy Mother’s Day weekend! My sweet husband Jamie asked me a few weeks ago if he could do a guest post today, and how could I say no? I knew it was important to him. Take it away, J! Hey y’all. The fact that Erica is letting me write a post is pretty special and well, as it turns out she’s… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
