How To Earn the Southwest Companion Pass

Happy Friday! I hope you had a fabulous week! My little family temporarily reunites in just a few hours, so you can bet that I’m bouncing off the walls with excitement and nerves (the very best kind) as we speak. 🙂 Today’s post is either a reminder for long-time Whimsical September readers or great, brand new info for those who are… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – April 13th, 2016

Happy Humpday, party people! We’re zeroing in on D-Day (delivery day) and we’ll be scooping up Jamie at the airport before we know it. Of course this week is crawling at a snail’s pace, but life is good! Crawling or not, I know Friday will get here. Here’s a slice of our lives from the last 10 days or so! Just… Keep Reading

Good morning! I hope you had a good Monday yesterday! The weather here in north Alabama was drizzly, which worked out well because all I had the energy for was relaxing. It’s funny how every day here at the end of pregnancy is different; Some days I feel like Superwoman and almost nearly forget I’m pregnant (until I catch myself in… Keep Reading

DIY Refinished Bathroom Vanities with Chalk Paint

As you guys know, I’m living with my parents in Alabama for a couple months, so last weekend I was itching to work on some kind of project that wasn’t too physically strenuous but that would serve as a nice distraction while I wait for Jamie and Sadie. My parents have a pair of well-used vanities in their home that needed a… Keep Reading

Hadley as a Big Sister: Advice I’ve Received

As I inch closer and closer to my due date, conversations with friends and family have primarily been focused on Hadley. Everyone seems to be curious how I think she’ll adjust, if we’re doing anything to make her feel special when she meets Sadie, how I plan to handle any jealousy, and more. The frequency of these conversations has caught… Keep Reading

A Dinnertime Crowd Pleaser: Our Not-So-Secret Family Meatloaf

This is the best classic meatloaf recipe, which has been pinned over 50k times on Pinterest. Reviewers say that it’s the first meatloaf they’ve ever loved, and that this is the last recipe they’ll ever use for meatloaf. I hope you love it as much as most do! Enjoy! And thank you so very much for visiting my blog. xo… Keep Reading

Maternity Pictures: Sisters, Best Friends, and Army Wives Edition

Though I don’t think I would ever purposely choose to walk through the pregnancy experience without my husband, the obvious benefit (of doing it twice) is getting to share these very special moments with my family members and closest girlfriends who normally likely would not have been a part of them if Jamie were around – i.e. ultrasounds, appointments, registry… Keep Reading

Real Parenting Moments: Vol II

Happy Monday, loves! I hope you had a fun weekend! A few weeks ago I did a post called “Real Parenting Moments” inspired by the constant rollercoaster of big feelings when it comes to motherhood – the good, the bad, the hilarious, the melt your heart, the pull your hair out with frustration types of moments. With a two year… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
