Slice of Life – April 14th, 2017

Happy Easter weekend! I have a few really sweet memories from Easter growing up. We almost always went to Good Friday service, which I remember, even as a kid, understanding the seriousness of Jesus dying on the cross, even though I didn’t comprehend the experience and meaning entirely until I was a bit older. When we were young, my sister and I always… Keep Reading

Throwing a Sip and See for a Mom and Her New Baby

Over the weekend, a girlfriend and I threw a Sip and See together for a friend of ours who recently had her third baby girl. We sent out invitations a few weeks ahead of time inviting her friends to drop by between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to see Sarah, meet/see/hold her newborn daughter, grab a bite to eat, and mingle with… Keep Reading

Five Ways to Make Your Blog More User-Friendly

Not only do I love writing my own blog, but I genuinely love reading dozens of blogs as well (BlogLovin is my go-to resource for keeping up with my favorites.) I occasionally run into issues on others’ blogs that could make them a tad more user-friendly, and if I’m having these issues on your site, there may be other readers running into… Keep Reading

Our Upcoming Deals with Amazon’s Subscribe and Save – April 2017

I need to start leaving some cookies or Gatorade or something out on my porch for our UPS/FedEx/USPS folks because they do a lot of walking up and down our (short) hill of a driveway! We’ve made necessary adjustments to our April Subscribe and Save order, so I just wanted to share what items were subscribed to get, if you’re… Keep Reading

The Saturday Sit-Down #13: My Little Sunshines

Britt and I rebranded our blogs and started consistently blogging right around the same time, and because we have kids very close in age, it’s fun to keep up with each other. Reading her blog has always felt like a breath of fresh air. Even when she talks about tough subjects, she does so gently with a touch of optimism. She’s… Keep Reading

Slice of Life + A Background Story: April 6th, 2017

Hello hello! I hope you’re having a great week. 🙂 Do you have any Easter/Spring Fling-type events going on this weekend? Our weekend is SLAMMED pack from Saturday morning until Sunday night (with thankfully all really good things!), so we’re putting on our seat belts and planning to plow through and enjoy every bit of it. A Little Background Wanting… Keep Reading

Disney Vacation: One Tip for Planning Your Dream Vacation

Because my Disney recap posts have been quite lengthy in words and pictures (sorryyyy!), let’s cut straight to the chase in this post. 🙂 If you and your family have dates penciled in for when you’d like to shoot to go to Disney, or maybe you’re like I was and just dreaming of one day going, I have one super… Keep Reading

DeSpains Do Disney Part Four: Magic Kingdom and a 4 a.m. Departure

Our 6 a.m. alarms came early on Saturday morning, which would be our last full day at Disney World. We were so excited about the day we had planned at Magic Kingdom, but we were also not as sad as we expected to be that it was our third and final day of vacation. We’d had the very best time the previous… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
