My Philosophy for Making & Keeping Social Commitments

My mom and I were talking recently when she mentioned that something I said a while back has stayed with her. “You told me that when it comes to keeping social commitments, you’ll never regret going, but you may very well regret not going.” The truth is that I still think about this constantly. Constantly. I really do have to take my own advice all…. Keep Reading

Family, Friends, and Food

We had a pretty solid weekend around here that was full of friends, family time, and a ton of good food! On Friday, Jamie met the girls and me at the mall after work so that we could switch cars. He took the girls home and I headed out to meet a friend for some Mexican. It was a fun,… Keep Reading

Spring Outfit Ideas to Put Together From Your Own Closet

Heading to Disney in a few weeks put a fire under me the other day to sift through my closet and take inventory of what I have for spring and summer. I didn’t buy any new spring clothes last year since I was mega pregnant and then postpartum, so I wasn’t sure what pieces I had on hand that I still… Keep Reading

Real Parenting Moments #7

There have been so many solid gold moments lately with my girls filled with such an array of emotions, and I’m always trying to mentally record whatever hilarious, sweet, surprising, or even maddening moment just happened. These are real parenting moments, and they collectively make our lives so full. I’m so smitten with these girls that my heart can’t take it… Keep Reading

How Do I Get My Baby to Sleep Through the Night? Between both of our daughters, we read every single book and tried every single thing we could to get them to sleep through the night - cry it out, interval comfort, sleeping in different places, nothing worked until we hired a sleep trainer. Then everything clicked!

How Do I Get My Baby To Sleep Through the Night? Our Success Story

When we struggled with Hadley to get her to sleep through the night as a baby, I chalked it up to the fact that she was just a bad sleeper. Despite reading every single sleep training article and book in the world, we were still up with her 3-4 times a night (7p-7a) until she was 15 months old. Thankfully, something just… Keep Reading

Slice of Life – February 27th, 2017

Hello hello! How was your weekend? We stayed busy but enjoyed nonstop family time, which is always my favorite way to spend our weekends. A little behind-the-scenes for ya: I’m actually writing this at 3:30 a.m. because I’m crazy and can’t sleep for the life of me. Sadie woke up randomly at 2, and after letting her holler for her life fuss… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
